Seattle—Amazon Inc. has announced that its Kindle Fire Newsstand will offer more than 400 magazines and newspapers. The new Kindle Fire reading device, which renders magazines and newspapers in full color, will offer magazines from Condé Nast, Hearst Corp. and Meredith Corp. on Newsstand. The Kindle Fire, which begins shipping today, moves beyond allowing users to read books. In addition to Newsstand, the Kindle Fire, a rival to Apple Inc.'s iPad and other tablets, also allows users to view movies and television shows, listen to music and interact with apps and games.
