San Francisco—Social analytics company Klout Inc. has partnered with internal collaboration company Yammer Inc. to refine how Klout defines social influence.
Yammer, owned by Microsoft Corp., provides private collaborative communications within organizations or designated groups. It functions similarly to such social collaboration tools as Salesforce.com Inc.'s Chatter and Jive Software's Jive Engage.
The partnership would display Klout scores and Topics of Influence within a user's Yammer profile, which Klout said would help companies identify employees considered by their social connections to be expert in certain areas. Klout also plans to create a Yammer-specific Klout score based on users' activity within their companies' Yammer networks.
