Richardson, Texas—KnowledgeBase Marketing, a unit of WPP Group as a Wunderman company that provides database marketing services, acquired a 51% interest in DataCore Marketing, a marketing services company that provides marketing strategy, data management, program management and reporting and analytics.

“The DataCore transaction perfectly complements KnowledgeBase Marketing’s business,” said Gary S. Laben, president-CEO of KnowledgeBase Marketing, in a statement. “The DataCore Marketing relationship extends our capabilities by enabling us to help clients fill the gaps in their marketing execution while managing their operational costs more effectively.”

DataCore’s management and staff will remain in their current positions and continue to operate from their headquarters in the Kansas City area. Jeff Yowell, president-CEO of DataCore, will maintain his 49% equity in the company and will continue to be actively involved in running the business. KnowledgeBase Marketing has the option to acquire the remaining ownership in future transactions, according to a release.
