New York--Professional services firm KPMG L.L.P. International has entered a pact to become a corporate sponsor of the Ryder Cup, one of professional golf's premier events. The consultancy's brand will be featured during telecasts of the event, which will be held next September in Sutton Coldfield, U.K. KPMG joins b-to-b giants such as Lucent Technologies Inc., IBM Corp. and Pfizer Inc. in sponsoring the Ryder Cup. Such companies sponsor professional golfing events because they draw a high-end, executive demographic.
