Lachlan Murdoch said to be involved in bidding on Nielsen Business Media titles

Published on .

New York—Lachlan Murdoch, son of Rupert Murdoch, is teaming with Pluribus Capital Management to make a bid for a group of Nielsen Business Media trade publications, including The Hollywood Reporter and Billboard, according to various media reports.

“Illyria, his (Lachlan Murdoch’s) investment company, is bidding with Pluribus Capital Management, a new entity that includes James Finkelstein, the U.S. publisher of The Hill and Who’s Who, Matthew Doull, a nephew of Conrad Black and former publisher of Wired, and George Green, former publisher of Hearst International,” according to a story in the Financial Times.

Nielsen Co., which owns Nielsen Business Media, has refused to comment on the speculation. Lachlan Murdoch stepped down from an executive role at News Corp. in 2005.
