Lamar Advertising reports wider third-quarter loss

Baton Rouge, La.--Lamar Advertising Co., an outdoor advertising company, reported a third-quarter net loss of $24.4 million, or 25 cents per share, compared with a net loss of $19.5 million, or 21 cents per share, for the same period last year. Revenue for the quarter was $188.3 million, up from $184.8 million. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization dropped 9% to $86.1 million, from $95 million in the third quarter of 2000.
