New York—Lebhar-Friedman last week closed its deal to acquire Dowden Health Media, which produces medical journals, consumer magazines, newsletters and physician education programs.

Dowden Health Media will become a subsidiary of Lebhar-Friedman, which publishes Nation’s Restaurant News and other media aimed at the foodservice and retail markets.

"We constantly look for ways to diversify our revenue streams and for ways to ensure the longevity and continued prosperity of Lebhar-Friedman and our employees," J. Roger Friedman, president-CEO of Lebhar-Friedman, said in a statement.

GE Commercial Finance Global Media & Communications arranged a $35 million senior debt facility to aid in the acquisition. Evercore represented Lebhar-Friedman in the acquisition. DeSilva & Phillips represented Dowden Health Media.
