Lesonsky leaving ‘Entrepreneur’ to start her own company

Published on .

Irvine, Calif.—Rieva Lesonsky, who has been editor in chief of Entrepreneur since 1987, plans to leave the magazine to start her own company, BtoB has confirmed. Her last day at Entrepreneur will be April 15. Soon after, Lesonsky plans to launch SMB Connects, a marketing communications company designed to help b-to-b marketers reach small and midsize companies. It will also provide customized editorial services.

“It was time,” Lesonsky said. “The bug was planted in my brain last June on my 55th birthday when I decided it was time to do new things.”

A search for Lesonsky's successor is under way.
