Published on .

Mountain View, Calif.—LinkedIn Corp. will buy presentation-sharing company SlideShare Inc. for $118.8 million to augment LinkedIn's networking and sales-contact capabilities. “Presentations are a core component of how professionals define and brand their identity. This deal enables professionals to discover people through content and content through people,” said Deep Nishar, LinkedIn senior VP-products and user experience, on the company's official blog. SlideShare users have uploaded more than 9 million presentations, documents, PDFs, videos and webinars. In March, SlideShare had nearly 29 million unique visitors, according to data from market research company comScore.
