LinkedIn, Google add languages to ad units, search

Mountain View, Calif.—LinkedIn Corp. has added 17 languages to the ad units that appear on its site. In addition, Google Inc. has boosted its mobile voice search capabilities for Android phones by 13 languages. LinkedIn ads previously had only been available in English. The site now offers ad units in the 200 countries in which the company operates. Among the new languages available are Czech, French, Japanese and Turkish. Google's added languages are all associated with the European market. Google Search now supports 42 languages, competing with Apple Inc.'s Siri mobile search service that comprehends English, French, German and Japanese.
