LinkedIn revenue increases 120%

Mountain View, Calif.—Business networking site LinkedIn Corp. reported second-quarter revenue of $121 million, an increase of 120% compared with the year-earlier period. Net income for the second quarter was $4.5 million, an increase of 5% compared with the year-earlier period. LinkedIn's marketing solutions business generated $38.6 million in revenue in the second quarter, up 111%. It generated the lion's share of its revenue from its hiring solutions unit, which saw revenue spike 170% to $58.6 million. LinkedIn said its share button is now being used by more than 100,000 publishers.
