Lockheed Martin, Pulse team on digital imaging system

Published on .

Bristol, Pa.--Technitrol’s Pulse Specialty Components unit has been chosen by Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control to help upgrade combat imaging systems for the U.S. Army AH-64 Apache attack helicopter. The company, which has been around for 54 years, will develop a high-speed digital transmission system that will send information at ultra-high speeds between helicopters in the field and mission control. The project will be closely watched not only in the defense industry but also by the business development arms of telecommunications and high-tech companies interested in high-speed, ultra-secure communications systems of the future.
