Emeryville, Calif.—Online marketing company Lyris Inc. posted a net loss of $17.2 million for the period ended June 30, and a $19.0 million loss for the year. In fiscal 2008, Lyris lost $2 million in the fourth quarter and $5.6 million for the year.

Included in these numbers is a non-cash goodwill impairment charge of $17 million and a non-cash amortization expense of $3.6 million. With other non-cash expenses and one-time gains, Lyris' non-GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles) net income was just under $2 million, compared with last year's $2.1 million.

Revenue for this year's fiscal fourth quarter and 12 months was virtually unchanged compared with the year-earlier periods, at $10.7 million and $43.8 million, respectively.
