Despite the whiff of recession, companies are still very much in the market for acquisitions, Richard said. "But the perception has to shift about the economy."
In the first two months of this year there were 13 magazine deals valued at $528 million, a 25% increase in value from the 25 magazine deals during the same period last year valued at $421 million, Richard said. Among the markets he's keeping his eye on this year are advertising, technology and a broad spectrum of information businesses.
