Magazine ad revenue up 10.4% in January

New York--Magazine advertising revenue totaled $1.02 billion in January, up 10.4% from the year earlier, according to the Magazine Publishers of America's Publishers Information Bureau. Seven of the 12 magazine advertising categories registered growth, including direct response, which increased 14.5% to $88.5 million and media and advertising, which rose 4.9% to $80.0 million. Technology suffered the biggest revenue decline, falling 17.2% to $56.4 million.
