New York--Magazine advertising revenue increased 11.2% in May to almost $1.69 billion compared with the same period last year, according to the Magazine Publishers of America's Publishers Information Bureau. Ad pages were also up slightly compared with last year. Seven of the 12 ad categories tracked showed revenue growth. In particular, the technology category improved significantly, up 15.9% to $94.2 million. Direct response advertising dipped 0.8% to $92.5 million.
