Year-to-date, ad revenue was up 9.6% to $9.757 billion.
"We are pleased that year-to-date, magazine revenue and pages have registered growth," Ellen Oppenheim, exec VP-chief marketing officer of MPA, said in a statement.
Seven of the 12 major ad categories tracked posted revenue increases for July. Direct response ad revenues slipped 3.1% to $98.3 million, while the media and advertising category registered a 16.2% increase to $65.4 million. The automotive, retail and apparel ad categories registered the biggest gains.
