Magazine revenues climb 10% in July

New York —Magazine rate-card-reported advertising revenue increased 10% to $1.513 billion in July compared with July 2004, according to Magazine Publishers of America’s Publishers Information Bureau.

Year-to-date advertising revenue increased 9.4% to $12.301 billion compared with the year-earlier period .

Eight of the 12 ad categories posted revenue gains in July; exceptions were media & advertising; home furnishings; retail; and technology, which declined by 8.3%, 2.5%, 1.9% and 6.8%, respectively.
