Magazine revenues post healthy increase in May

New York—Total magazine advertising revenue increased to $2.2 billion in May, an increase of 12.4% compared with May 2004, according to the Magazine Publishers of America’s Publishers Information Bureau report released Wednesday.

Year-to-date revenues were up 7.7% to $8.9 billion compared with the same period last year.

All but one of the 12 major ad categories exhibited growth in revenues. Technology was down 0.4% to $95.2 million.
