Manufacturing executives bullish about 2010

By Published on .

New York—More than 75% of executives at manufacturing and industrial companies say the U.S. economy will improve by the second quarter of 2010 or sooner, according to ThomasNet’s “Industry Market Barometer” survey.

The survey of 800 executives, conducted online in July, also found that 35% expect their own business to grow by the end of this year. More than half of respondents (54%) reported a decline in their revenue in the first half of this year compared with the year-earlier period.

The survey also found that 70% of respondents are exploring new sales tactics, such as selling into new industries, experimenting with distributors and increasing online marketing.
