Manugistics teams with Cap Gemini

Supply chain software specialist Manugistics Group Inc., Rockville, Md., has signed a joint marketing agreement with consulting firm Cap Gemini Group to cross-sell each other's software and services to trading-exchange clients. The deal gives Manugistics, Rockville, Md., a significant footprint in Europe, where Cap Gemini has most of its 40,000-strong work force and takes in the bulk of its roughly $4 billion in annual revenues. That's vital as Manugistics engages in a slugfest with i2 Technologies Inc., Logility Inc. and others for a share of sales to businesses looking for b-to-b Internet solutions. Cap Gemini, Paris, said it would use Manugistics software in an Internet system designed to service the European transportation market.
