Former MarchFirst CEO buys Whittman-Hart

Published on .

Chicago--Robert Barnard, the former CEO of bankrupt Internet consulting firm MarchFirst Inc., Tuesday acquired Whittman-Hart, the IT consulting firm he founded two decades ago, for $6 million in cash in a bankruptcy sale, the Chicago Tribune reported Wednesday.

Whittman-Hart was the anchor of MarchFirst, the firm Barnard created when his company acquired USWeb/CKS at the height of the Internet frenzy. MarchFirst had a spectacular collapse when the Internet bubble burst.

Barnard currently operates Form and Function Consulting Inc. and will integrate operations of that firm and Whittman-Hart.

"It feels wonderful," Barnard told the Tribune. "It's also ironic, obviously."
