According to the survey, 26% of marketers said price discounting has a negative effect on their business, and 24% said price discounting has a positive effect on their business.
Thirty percent of respondents said price discounting has both a negative and positive effect on their business.
However, marketers agreed on the importance of building value during the sales process. The survey found that 75% of marketers said building emotional connections, value, reputation and quality were critical to driving sales.
The survey was conducted online among subscribers to "Cool News of the Day," an e-mail newsletter of Reveries, published by David X. Manners Co.
