Marketing & Technology Group acquires ‘Hotels' from publisher Hogan

Chicago—Marketing & Technology Group announced Monday that it has acquired Hotels magazine and other related properties, including hotelmag.com, from Dan Hogan, the magazine's publisher. Hogan acquired the properties earlier this month from Reed Business Information.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Hogan and his editorial and sales team from RBI are joining the Marketing & Technology Group immediately. They plan to produce a June issue of Hotels and to relaunch its website. Hotels Investment Outlook, a sibling publication, will resume publication in the fourth quarter.

Marketing & Technology Group serves the hospitality, foodservice, red meat and poultry processing industries.

“Hotels is an excellent strategic fit for our company,” Mark Lefens, president of Marketing & Technology Group, said in a statement. “It is global in scope, and it brings an allied, but not overlapping, market to our existing brands.”

Hotels was among 23 trade titles that RBI shuttered last month, many of which have since been sold.
