Marketo buys Crowd Factory

Published on .

San Mateo, Calif.—Marketing automation company Marketo Inc. has acquired San Francisco-based Crowd Factory, a social campaign management business. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The Crowd Factory technology allows marketers to add social applications and messages to a variety of social channels, including Facebook Pages, Twitter and LinkedIn feeds, landing pages, websites, banner ads and emails, according to Marketo. The reach and impact of social sharing can be tracked, with ROI reports on individual influencers and conversions, the company said. Crowd Factory's apps also enable the building of group buying and social gaming elements into campaigns. Crowd Factory's current clients include BT Group, Molson Coors Brewing and Sony Music Entertainment.
