In addition to overseeing New York Times Co.'s Internet businesses, Nisenholtz seeks out up-and-coming technologies. This year, the company invested in Betaworks, which developed TweetDeck and bit.ly and provides seed money for new social Web companies, and Ongo Inc., which is planning to launch a service for consumers to read and share digital content from multiple publishers.
