MasterCard consolidates global media account at Universal McCann

New York—MasterCard Worldwide announced that it has consolidated its global media account, estimated at more than $340 million, at Universal McCann, New York. Previously GSD&M/Idea City, Austin, Texas, handled the company’s U.S. media account, while Universal McCann managed MasterCard’s media account outside the U.S.

In a statement, MasterCard said it has “enjoyed a great partnership and success with GSD&M/Idea City for more than 10 years, and we are extremely proud of the work we have done together. At this time, we have decided to consolidate our media-planning and buying responsibilities with our global agency of record to create greater efficiencies and consistency around the globe.”

Universal McCann’s sibling agency McCann Erickson Worldwide, New York, handles creative for MasterCard.
