San Francisco -- McCann-Erickson North America will merge its two San Francisco ad agencies, McCann-Erickson and Anderson & Lembke, effective Aug. 1. The new agency, to be called McCann-Erickson/A&L, will be headed by Nick Bishop as exec VP-CEO. McCann-Erickson San Francisco, which was formed in 1913, had $205 million in billings in 1998. Anderson & Lembke had billings of about $130 million last year. Clients of the combined agency will include: Blue Shield of California, California Milk Advisory Board, California Table Grape Commission, Computec Media, DFS Group Ltd., Hewlett-Packard Co., Microsoft Corp., Siebel Systems and Silicon Graphics (SGI).
