New York—McGraw-Hill Cos., which publishes BusinessWeek
and owns Standard & Poor’s, on Thursday reported third-quarter revenue rose 15% to $2 billion. Net income rose to $381 million, from $324.5 million a year earlier. The company said its earnings were bolstered by strong results in its financial services and education units. Revenue for the b-to-b group grew 25% to $201.4 million, although BusinessWeek
continues to struggle, with ad pages down 8% in the third quarter compared with the year-earlier period, according to the Publishers Information Bureau.
