Media Audit, Ipsos announce radio measurement study using smart cell phones

Published on .

Dallas—The Media Audit and Ipsos announced a plan to conduct a market study of a media measurement system using a smart cell phone to monitor radio listening. The study will involve five of the nation’s largest radio broadcasters, representing more than 25% of all radio revenue, who have agreed to invest in the project. The radio broadcasters are Clear Channel, Cox Radio, Cumulus Media, Entercom Communications and Radio One. Results of the study will be used in The Media Audit/Ipsos’ bid to create a media measurement system to monitor U.S. electronic radio ratings. —Kate Maddox
