Media M&A activity up sharply

New York--In the first half of the year, merger and acquisition activity in the media and information sectors was up markedly, according to media investment bank Jordan, Edmiston Group. The total number of deals was up 26.3% between January and June, compared with the same period last year. In the same time frame, the value of the deals increased by 102.4%. In particular, b-to-b magazine deals were up 60% in terms of number of deals and up a whopping 821% in value of the deals executed.
