WSJ Digital Network, Microsoft partner

The Wall Street Journal Digital Network announced an agreement in which Microsoft Corp. becomes the exclusive third-party provider of contextual and paid search advertising for its network of Web sites, including AllThingsD.com, Barrons.com, MarketWatch.com and WSJ.com. The addition of these sites brings 20 million more unique monthly visitors to the Microsoft advertising network.

Intellisphere buys several Ascend titles

Intellisphere, which publishes medical e-newsletters such as "Family Medicine Net Guide," has acquired the Princeton, N.J.-based division of Ascend Health. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The media assets acquired include AJMC (American Journal of Managed Care), Cardiology Review, Pharmacy Times, Resident and Staff Physician and Surgical Rounds. Last summer, Ascend sold its Stagnito food division to BNP Media and in November shuttered three publications: Family Practice Recertification, Internal Medicine World and Physician's Money Digest.
