Media6Degrees taps Phillips to be CEO

By Published on .

New York—Social ad targeting company Media6Degrees has named Tom Phillips CEO. He succeeds co-founder Joe Doran, who will remain as an adviser to the company.

Doran most recently led Google’s search and analytics unit. Prior to that, he was CEO of news search service Deja.com, subsequently acquired by Google, and cofounder and publisher of Spy magazine.

Media6Degrees targets prospects based on their social network connections. Earlier this year the company raised initial venture financing of $9.8 million from a group headed by U.S. Venture Partners.
