New York—MediaMath Inc., a provider of a global media-buying platform, has acquired Akamai Technologies' Advertising Decision Solutions data cooperative. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. As part of the agreement, MediaMath will acquire most of the assets associated with Akamai's ADS business and will integrate the Akamai ADS team into its workforce. The acquisition will enhance MediaMath's Data Management Platform and enable customers to better manage data, understand their audiences and improve their online marketing campaigns, the companies said. The companies also signed a multiyear agreement that grants MediaMath exclusive rights to Akamai's pixel-free technology for use within digital advertising and marketing applications. “MediaMath's exclusive use of Akamai's pixel-free technology will enable clients to scale their business more effectively and help us make that happen quickly,” said Joe Zawadzki, MediaMath CEO, in a statement.
