Meebo acquires psychographic targeter Mindset

Published on .

Mountain View, Calif.—Social network and content sharing platform Meebo will acquire Mindset Media, which offers psychographic analysis to target prospects based on their personal characteristics.

Meebo plans to offer Mindset technology—targeting prospects based on such characteristics as leadership, openness and self-esteem, rather than demographic data—to its advertising partners. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Following a November 2010 infusion of $25 million in venture capital funding, Meebo has raised about $60 million in private underwriting.
