Merkle, Digital Impact form marketing alliance

Lanham, Md.--Database marketing agency Merkle announced Tuesday it has formed an alliance with Digital Impact to provide database strategy for e-mail marketing campaigns.

Merkle and Digital Impact will combine their capabilities to offer integrated services for online as well as offline direct marketing to each company's clients. Merkle brings its analytical and database prowess to the partnership, while Digital Impact brings its e-mail marketing services expertise.

"We believe that permission-based e-mail marketing will continue to grow as a key element within the marketing equation and, by working with Digital Impact, we are able to offer clients an expanded range of online direct marketing options," said David Williams, Merkle's president-CEO, in a statement.
