Merrill Lynch gives muted ad forecast for ’08

New York—Merrill Lynch on Thursday released a muted 2008 growth forecast for U.S. ad spending. The investment firm foresees 2.3% growth based on “bottoms-up forecast” contributions from a group of its analysts. The company warned that the forecast does not account for a so-called recession scenario.
