New York—American Business Media announced the winners of the Littleford awards, which recognize corporate community service. Micato Safaris won the Grand Littleford Award.
An operator of luxury tours specializing in African Safaris, Micato Safaris created America Share, a nonprofit foundation to assist in the education and housing of young Kenyans affected by the AIDS epidemic. The company was nominated by Northstar’s Travel Weekly magazine.
The four other 2005 Littleford Award winners are:
- Women in P-O-P Benefit to Fight Breast Cancer, nominated by P-O-P Times.
- Luck Stone Corp., nominated by Aggregates Manager, for its geology educational program.
- Intel Corp., nominated by PC Magazine, for its Science Talent Search program.
- EWeek, nominated by eWeek magazine, for its Excellence Awards program that supports "organizations that use technology to serve our nation’s youth while ensuring technology access for all."
The winners will be honored at a luncheon Aug. 16 in New York.
