Microsoft acquires MarketingPilot

Seattle—Microsoft Corp. has acquired marketing automation company MarketingPilot Software. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. MarketingPilot will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary under Microsoft's Dynamics CRM unit. In addition to marketing automation, MarketingPilot provides integrated marketing packages. In a blog post announcing the deal, Bob Stutz, corporate VP-Microsoft Dynamics CRM, said the acquisition “will accelerate our ability to better meet the needs of CMOs through rich business intelligence and better enable marketers to successfully plan, execute, monitor and optimize customer interactions across digital, social and traditional channels, and measure ROI.” Earlier this week, Microsoft announced it had acquired cloud storage company StorSimple for an undisclosed amount.
