Redmond, Wash.—Microsoft Corp. this week announced its plans to acquire FrontBridge Technologies, a Los Angeles-based technology company.
FrontBridge’s e-mail filtering technology services comprise spam filtering, virus scanning, disaster recovery, policy enforcement and message-archiving solutions.
Microsoft said the acquisition gives its customers more choices in their efforts to secure corporate e-mail systems and meet regulatory compliance requirements. FrontBridge will become part of Microsoft’s Exchange Server Product Group, according to David Thompson, corporate VP of that group. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
