Microsoft faces scrutiny from European Commission

Brussels, Belgium--The European Commission is investigating at least two formal antitrust complaints lodged against Microsoft Corp., Redmond, Wash., according to The Wall Street Journal Europe. The complaints were filed by European software and personal computer manufacturers that were not identified. The complaints involve "alleged abuse of dominant position in the market for operating systems for personal computers and servers," Mario Monti, European competition commissioner, told the newspaper.
