Phoenix--Manufacturing giant Honeywell said Thursday that it has entered into a strategic alliance with Microsoft Corp., Redmond, Wash., to beef up its Internet portal for plant managers, engineers and factory workers. Honeywell has been running the site, called MyPlant.com, since July. The alliance means it will have a technology partner aboard to provide additional services and content. Microsoft also takes an equity stake in the venture, the size of which was unspecified. Microsoft said VerticalNet, a business-to-business partner of the software giant, has agreed to build trading, buying and sales services on the MyPlant.com site.
