San Francisco--Macromedia Inc. said Wednesday it has signed a deal with Microsoft Corp. to provide unspecified discounts to electronics manufacturers that distribute new wireless devices that run Microsoft's Windows CE operating systems and its own Flash Player brand of software. Macromedia seeks wide distribution for Flash Player, one of several programs that can read audio-video content on the Internet. Wireless computing has been one of the highest profile technology sectors since the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. The federal government plans to buy large numbers of wireless devices to make military, law enforcement and intelligence personnel more effective.
