Microsoft makes $2 million commitment to Internet2

Redmond, Wash. -- Microsoft Corp. announced Wednesday that it will commit more than $2 million in goods and services to the Internet2 project, which is developing higher speed access to the Internet to allow improved streaming audio and video. The University Corporation for Advanced Internet Development oversees the Internet2 project, which includes more than 150 U.S. universities and corporate partners. Microsoft also committed to exchanging ideas with Internet2 researchers.
