Microsoft names president of online service group

Redmond, Wash.—Microsoft Corp. announced that Oi Lu will join the company as president of its online services group, effective Jan. 5.

Lu was previously exec VP-engineering for the search and advertising technology group at Yahoo. In his new role, Lu will oversee several groups, including the advertiser and publisher solutions business, online audience business, online services group research and development, and online services group finance.

Microsoft also announced that Brian McAndrews, senior VP-advertiser and publisher solutions group and former CEO of aQuantive, which was acquired by Microsoft, will leave the company. He will serve in a consultative role to Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer and Lu over the next several months.
