Wakefield, Mass.—The Search Engine Marketing Professional Organization, a nonprofit group, has formed an alliance with Microsoft Corp. to give people from MSN Search’s 20,000 affiliates access to SEMPO’s online educational program. Personnel from MSN affiliates will be able to take the SEMPO Institute’s Fundamentals of Search Marketing class. SEMPO Institute also offers online classes in advanced search engine optimization and advanced search advertising, but those are not part of the agreement.
Microsoft also said it will renew its Platinum sponsorship of SEMPO for two years. The sponsorship gives Microsoft a number of benefits, including the ability to post job openings on the SEMPO Web site, early access to SEMPO research, trade show booth co-op promotions and top billing at SEMPO events.
