Microsoft touts Web ad effectiveness

Redmond, Wash. -- As part of a new initiative to strengthen customer service for its Web advertisers, Microsoft Corp. released data on the effectiveness of Internet advertising. The research showed, for example, that one online ad campaign more than doubled unaided brand awareness for a film release. The research was conducted by E-valuations Research, with Burke Marketing Research and the Advertising Research Foundation serving as consultants.
