The EC Company, Palo Alto, Calif., said Monday that it has completed $30 million round-three financing from an investors group that includes American Express, CMGI @Ventures and extensible markup language, or XML, software vendor webMethods Inc. The company specializes in providing trading-exchange software and services for medium-sized companies (typically $1 billion or less in annual revenue) that supply corporate giants. It said the new funds would go toward expanding operations in such areas as sales and marketing.
