Published on .

Baltimore—Mollie Spilman, formerly CMO at Yahoo Inc., has been named CMO at mobile advertising company Millennial Media. The role is a new one for the company. Spilman was Yahoo CMO for three months until replaced in August by Kathy Savitt in a corporate shakeup by new CEO Marissa Mayer. At Yahoo, Spilman also served as head of marketing for the Americas, president-b-to-b marketing and senior VP-commerce. She has also held senior marketing positions at Discovery Communications, Meredith Corp. and Time Warner. Millennial Media is the largest independent mobile ad platform, competing with Google Inc.'s AdMob and Apple Inc.'s iAd. The company went public in May.
