Miller Freeman buys Continuing Medical Education

Published on .

London -- Miller Freeman, the global business information group of United News & Media, announced Friday that it has acquired Continuing Medical Education for $111 million. CMI is a for-profit provider of continuing medical education for U.S. physicians. The company publishes Psychiatric Times and Medicine & Behavior, produced more than 160 conferences and seminars in 1998, and operates two interactive Web sites. The acquisition is one of many in recent months for Miller Freeman, which earlier this year purchased the National Sporting Goods Association World Sports Expo and announced a foray into television production.
